Ofqual approved course over 18 contact hours. Successful learners receive a FAW certificate valid for three years.

Course overview

The FAA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is a comprehensive three day qualification for people who are required to act as workplace first aiders. The course includes at least 18 contact hours of practical and theoretical training, and successful learners receive a regulated qualification valid for three years.

The respiratory system
Resuscitation & AED
Choking
Wounds & Bleeding
Hypovolaemic Shock

Minor Burns & Scalds

Practical assessments are carried out throughout the day.

Top To Toe Surveys
Primary Survey Re-Cap
Bones, Joints & Muscle Injuries
Head and Spinal Injuries
Catastrophic, Life-Threatening Bleeding, including how to use an Improvised Tourniquet
Chest Injuries

Practical assessments are carried out throughout the day.

Course Syllabus: Day 3
Specialised Burn Injuries
Eye Injuries
Poisoning
Anaphylaxis
Major Illnesses including Asthma, Diabetes, Heart Attack, Strokes, DVTs and PEs

Practical assessments are carried out throughout the day. Written assessment paper covering the entire 3-day course.
