Course overview

Life-Threatening Bleeding Control is a 3-hour course for up to 12 candidates. All learners must hold an in-date Level 3 Emergency First Aid or Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification.

Life-threatening external bleeding, control measures and equipment
Recognising a life-threatening external bleed
Improvised tourniquets
Wound packing techniques
Manufactured tourniquets
Haemostatic dressings
Casualty aftercare
Dangers of the incorrect use of tourniquets and haemostatic products
